Meia Praia:
This vast expanse of golden sands next to Lagos appears to stretch endlessly towards Portimão in the distance. It is the location of many of our beach front holiday properties. Beach cafes and safe bathing make this a firm favourite with families.
Praia da Batata:
The closest beach to the centre of Lagos next to a small fort at the entrance to the harbour.
Dona Ana:
Steps lead down to a popular sheltered cove backed and flanked north and south by cliffs.
Porto de Mós:
In a small bay between Luz and Lagos is an easily accessible beach with ample parking and local facilities.
Luz Bay:
A short drive from lagos Luz Bay is a pretty cliff backed beach, with a lively village boasting many bars, clubs and restaurants. With so much on offer in a small area and Boavista Golf Course only a short distance away, Luz bay is understandably very popular in the summer.
Burgau:
A bit further on from Luz, the village of Burgau has a cliff flanked beach. Good for snorkelling and scuba diving. Following the coast road from Burgau leads throught the valley of Boco do ria and on to Salema.
Zavial:
Situated near Raposeira a small village between Lagos and Sagres, this beautiful beach is a popular summer retreat and, on the right day, a haven for surfers. A bar/restaurant gives excellent views across the cliff backed sands and provides an excellent setting to complete a day on the beach.
Further West:
The more adventurous will find a host of discoveries waiting for you west of Lagos with a whole array of widely differing beaches on the south and west coasts. Some beaches are more difficult to access, but expect to be rewarded for your trouble with fantastic scenery and uncrowded stretches of sand, even in the most crowded heights of summer.
